...was when Ridsdale and Hart were in charge.

    Think on.

Funny you should say that - I was thinking something similar (Though not the exact same comparison as I wasnt sure about Hart and Ridsdale wasnt a total sucess in his last job)

But we have a Manager who on half a season has really impressed the fans
Now we have a chairman who has a record of success (though not as chairman) unparalleled over the last 30 years

what could possibly go wrong...... :)

What we don't want is him paying himself £500,000 a year salary and bringing in a few mates on £250,000 a year salaries. Ridsdale and his crony almost sent us back into administartion with their over-the-top salaries. Shepherd did the chairman's job free gratis because he was a Barnsley fan and he turned the finances around. I always worry when we get in outsiders i.e. not Barnsley fans - once shafted, twice shy.

Hope you're right and he's just doing a mate a favour. Maybe he'll lick the off-field activities back into shape to a level befitting a Championship Club. It's a bloody joke at the moment with everything outsourced to the sheapest bidder.

Hope he doesn't try to pull the wool over our eyes or try to "ram" his ideas down our throats.

Me too, they were exhilarating. I still miss them all these years later.
