The executive chairman has a nicer chair and drives a Lexus.

I've more or less asked the same question as this initial thread

We had an owner that was the Chairman of the board of directors (even though he didn't actually have the name of Chairman) and he was able to make executive decisions
We now have a Chairman that is unable to make final decisions (executive decisions) because anything passed by the board has still to be passed by the owner

My question is this...........why is this?............why has a new 'Chairman' been brought in?...........why not bring Our Maurice in as just a director, and not as the Chairman?
All the media releases about how much expertise Our Maurice brings to the table is great..........but there is something else here that has not been disclosed

Nope pc not a director therefore not on the board
Although he could have been described as a de facto director because of his personal control over affairs.

Have you ever been to the Executive Suite that was/is on Sheffield Road?

    You'll find out there.

Surely PC is the manageing director because he is the sole owner.........he has two other directors to assist him - Don and Barry
Who else is on the board of directors if its not these 3?..........no one

Whatever structure there is at the club regarding board meetings...........PC is the sole owner and the MD and so he will Chair any meetings involving the MD and the other two directors Don and Barry

If PC hands the role of the Chairman over to Our Maurice then what he is actually doing is handing over the direction of the club
Remembering that PC has ££££Millions wrapped up in Barnsley Football Club - why would a sole owner do such a thing?

He can't be MD because he's not a director...

You're really not getting this at all are you nudger. PC isn't a director of Barnsley football club. He isn't a managing director, isn't an executive director, isn't a none-executive director, he doesn't even direct the traffic at the end of grove street. HE ISN'T A DIRECTOR.
