The fact that you think I'm wrong makes me certain I'm right. He sliced just as many goal kicks out of play as Steele. Steele is x10 the goalkeeper of Alnwick, and that's why Hill still ended up reverting back to Steele even though he didn't like or rate him.
I created this thread to try and assure myself (and maybe others) that everything is ok, not to worry etc. Turns out it's been hijacked yet again.
you say that and then on the you post something like, New era, my arse or something like you did yesterday whitey.
I'm a good kicker off the ball and I, like every other human on the planet can punch a football too. I'm **** at stopping balls from going into the goal though. I am Ben Alnwick
Exactly ya crank. I was getting bogged down, being unusually negative. So I created this thread to correct that. Sure I've just explained as much. But I don't mind having to spell it out for those less fortunate. This thread had nowt to do with Steele, yet you hijacked it again to make the same point, a-fcukin-gain. Read my first post, where I suggest Alnwick isn't as bad as some folk make out. You read that, yes? Now bugger off you quim.
There's three comments about the goalkeeper position Whitey. i couldn't believe that I read that ben's kicking isn't good so i said something.
I only saw him play a handful of times for us early last season, and I have to say that I thought he was average. But that's the reason I'm not writing him off - he hardly played much to make an accurate assessment. So anybody saying either "he's great" or "he's *****" are overreacting to a limited number of games. How many of us wrote Dagnall off after 9 games? I'm right behind Alnwick, if he gets a chance again. But I know that I'd prefer Steele. 5 years of watching him.
As good as it is to be optimistic and things definitely seem to be changing for the better, football is getting more and more about money so if our budget is the same as last year then really we are worse off. We're going to lose some key players this summer, maybe even some of those who are still under contract. When Flitcroft took over we had nothing to lose, we were already down in everyone's eyes so the motivation was there to try and turn it around. I'm not sure that same mentality will be there when we start on zero points with everyone else although we can't be as bad as in 2012 so I don't expect us to be in such a perilous position at Christmas again. I still find myself looking at the teams and wondering who is going to struggle and be "worse" than us no-one really jumps out, it would be easy to say Yeovil and Donny but it never works like that. Hopefully QPR will go into self-destruct like Wolves did anyway. **This post isn't as negative as it may appear, I'm just trying not to get too carried away, not being near the relegation scrap and a few good derby wins will do me this year.
As much as I like Dagnall I don't see him as the lad to fire us up the table, he had a good 6 weeks when Flicker first took over but didn't do much after.
