A Wolves fan's just been un the shop where I work and told me its going around the Wolves forum he posts on that we've made at least 2 offers for Adam Hammill. He says Wolves are keen to shift him but he's allegedly on £12k a week, which would obviously be the stumbling block from our point of view.

I'm fairly sure he wants to come back. He knows his best form was with us and thinks he can get back to his best here.

Hopefully that'll persuade him to drop to our money. He'll not get anything like 8k anywhere what with all the issues he's had over the past 2 years, and his form is hardly sparkling.

I'd have him back like a shot

Basically, t's in his court now. He's at his peak. If he's bothered about his career he'd come back. Flitty would give him the time of day and kick start his talent again. If he's more bothered about his bank balance he'll go for the money move and become a forgotten man justlike Vaz Te.

    Adam, it's your call, lad.

Harsh to call Vaz Te a forgotten man, he's done ok at West Ham I thought? Argument stands true for Butterfield and McIndoe though.

The popular figure at the time he left was 15k. He's subsequently had two relegations. Whether there is a reduction clause in his contract I don't know, but it is not uncommon especially amongst the yoyo clubs. Unlikely they ever factored in a league one plummet though, tosspots!!

If Wolves are so desperate to get rid, let them pay half his wages for the remainder of his contract. That's not unheard of either, or send him on a season long loan which might be good for us. I'm over-thinking....

I'd love to see him in a Reds shirt again. Some slowcoach will come on and tell us to get over it and move on, thing is most folk did yonks back and this is the next phase.

Seems the perfect fit for both the player and our club - thought it for a while. Yes his wage would have to take a hit but he's not going to get regular football at an established Championship club anywhere else. If he wants to get his name back 'in the shop window' he has to try and play at as high a level as possible imo.

His twitter account also said last night, "Igloo is decent!!" Maybe he's already been sampling 'tarn :p

No, no, no. In that case we spend a year getting him back to his best then he goes back to wolves in time to meet them back in the championship.. Then if we want him he's in good form and Wolves have us over a barrel like the O'Grady situation.

Bar in Liverpool, lot of the minor celebrity and footballer types hang around in there. Was in there the other week and didn't really see what the fuss was about.

Eh - Thats the Vas Te who has played in 18 games for West Ham in 2013 - he missed most of the first half of the season due to injury but is a regular first teamer for a mid table Prem side when fit. I think Vas Te was about the worst example you could have picked.

I wouldnt be unhappy if he came back but I doubt he would want to drop to our salary stucture and if we are not prepared to bend it for Steele we certainly shouldnt for him

    Would love Hammill back here.

Can't for the life of me see it happening, though. Unless we're going to pay both he and Wolves in brass buttons.

Is Butterfield your secret lover or something? Never allow a thing to be said about him.
