http://www.barnsleyfc.co.uk/news/article/club-statement-don-rowing-to-retire-0306201-853101.aspx Cheers Don, thanks for all your efforts. Hope he enjoys his retirement. I just hope the witch-hunters don't feel compelled to find a new target
Patrick Cryne said, “Don has been the unsung hero at the club. In his position you draw fire for all the poor decisions made within the club, but get little credit for the good work done. Spot on Pat, you only need to read some of the comments on here to see how true this is.
Oh I think they will... Well done Don...the fact we're still a Championship club shows you did a tremendous job.
Thankyou don. if you do read this psycho-induced-claptrap, then you have done well to stick it out for nine years! i am sure your hard work will be continued, the club wouldn't be where it is now without your hard work, enthusiasm and tremendous tenacity. and i do hope you pay for your season ticket, New Era!
One day, one of you lot will stop fannying about and actually say what you mean. I don't think you realise how daft these little inferences come across.
Not to the rest of us, you didn't. You just made up your own little name for Cryne, which has vague insinuations. And you are agreeing with equally vague stuff from other posters. It's like a couple of bairns whispering at the back of a classroom. Just say what's on your mind, if you think something's awry, say so. Otherwise it comes over like childish tattle that no-one will take seriously.
I have said what I think - directly to you on one ocassion. I think Cryne has held the club back through his lack of involvement and interest while retaining the power to veto any decisions. Let's not forget - it's hisclub and he can pretty much do as he pleases. I don't think he has had a positive impact since about 2010 but because he saved the club he is above questioning to most folk on here.
Moanman...FFS change your "I am status" from happy... to moaning, griping and defeatist and **** off to your beloved Man U...Ta.
Stick it out? Wasn't he on something like £80,000 per year, working in the football 'industry' at a club we all love. It's not exactly a tour of Afghanistan. Credit where it's due - we're told he balanced the books, but for people to say he wasn't a decision maker at the club is contradictory in the extreme. As a Director and General Manager of a multi-million pounds company I'm not having it that he wasn't a key decision maker - if not on every major decision then most certainly on most if not all day to day issues. If the latter isn't true then surely the credit for balancing of the books is down to the key decision maker Pat Cryne? It can't work both ways.
Eh ? I can agree that Conan can moan a bit but he is a Barnsley fan through and through. I think the **** off to Man U is a tad unfair.
