    After season after season of decline...........the only thing thats going to get the attendances at the club going in the right direction, including the Season Ticket sales, is success on the field

    On paper now we have a very exciting management team at the helm in Watkins and Mansford and a great first team manager.........but that counts for nothing if the fans at the start of the season see that we are struggling once again to stay in the Championship

    If they can't be bothered to turn up and support Flicker then how can they call themselves Barnsley fans? This is the most exciting pre season we've had for many years, the optimism around Flicker, his staff, and the team is fantastic.

    Agree totally.............what I am saying here is that I dont think many stay away fans will buy into the club until they see evidence of improvements in the league table.
    Its sad I know, but I cant see many more STs being sold and attendances going up until that happens..........no matter how good the back room staff are or even as far as the players we sign during the close season

    I think he's got a point, he just made it badly.

    I don't think that these appointments will suddenly see thousands of extra fans turn up but then I don't think that's the idea either. The appointments will hopefully see an improvement in how the club is ran and in turn an improvement in the budget which combined with the hopefully good results next year will THEN put bums on seats.

    The purpose of Watkins and Mansford is to generate additional revenue through improved commercial activity, which will allow more funds in the medium to long term for team strengthening, which in the right manager's hand (Flicker) could lead to improved league position and thus more fans...

    It's not that hard to understand is it?

    Agree 100% with that.

    I think there will be a slight increase in attendances this year because of how we finished last year, but I dont think it will be a substantial increase, unless we start the season like a house on fire.

    Hmm. I disagree. I think we will see a reasonable improvement in season ticket sales mainly due to the Flicker effect but some people will sit up and take notice of Patrick's intent with Watkins and Mansford's appointments. A couple of good signings will help as well as hopefully new initiatives from Flicker to get more Families interested.

    After a season off I'm buying one solely on the basis the Flitcroft is the manager. I don't think I've heard in football who I believe in so much for years. I'm a real cynic but this guy's enthusiasm and honesty is why I want to be a part of it... so I'm in.

    No its not difficult to understand..............but you have got it wrong

    If the DON was involved with player recruitement...........then I'm sure the new executive of the club who has much experience in players contracts will be involved in not only generating more funds for the club but also in the construction of the first team
    If you think Watkins and Mansford are not going to be pivitol in who plays for Barnsley Football club then think again........because they are........and on paper we have got two big hitters here
