David Flitcroft tells me he is closing in on signing a new goalkeeper from Europe. More info in tomorrow's Chronicle. From Matt Murray

Looking more likely Steele will decide to move on unfortunately.

If that's the case lets hope this keeper from Europe has Alnwick's distribution and commandment with Steele's shot stopping all rolled into one.

Did we ever find out if Lidvicidlasdkfeaisfjeliaf was released? Either way it doesn't look like Steele will be staying.

I hope he's good as Heinz Muller.

I don't think Alnwicks got good distribution or commandment. The only time he has ever commanded his box is when he assaulted a rival. His BFC career should have ended there for me.

Careful what you wish for Phil; if he goes you might begin to understand what most on here are saying.

Better than Steele's, although Steele is a superb shot stopper, obviously.

Apparently he's not a replacement for Steele anyway, so maybe he will be staying, fingers crossed.

You clearly didn't see him while he was in goal then! Cracking keeper only reason he got dropped is because the Alnwick hate brigade wanted Steele in!!

Dropped is exactly what happened every time Alnwick tried catching a ball.

Steele's gone, Alnwick number 1. It's been planned since last summer.

Them slating Alnwick are choosing to base it on one game - Forest. Other than that he kept a few clean sheets and did ok early season. Steele would be **** if we judged it on the Charlton game.
