I know i shouldnt bite but each day and pitch is different - ball turning and seaming this doesnt look like a 300 run wicket to me.
You have to decide on each day and conditions what sort of score is reasonable - and I may be wrong but I think a score of 230 would have been about par today - Sri Lanka are playing very poorly though and will do well to get to 150 at this rate.

I still think Yesterdays pitch England should have been over 300 and Bell had just applied a bit more pressure - the fact that Australia were rubbish and England bowled really well doesnt change that

    Correct.

It made me chuckle in the winter when all the usual relics were having a pop at the bowlers. steve harmison in a few more words just came out along with Collingwood just said there wrong. Give some praise to batsman and the bowlers should stick to there lines.

Much prefer to listen to younger commentators/ old pro's than the like of bob willis....

Against a decent attack, NO team will get 300.

England batsman and the Aussies say it was spinning at Birmingham and was very slow.

Given they still face the new ball and it's a 50 over format the power play isnt anywhere near as effective as it is towards the end of the game, then i'd be surprised if it changed too much. There's essentially a risk/reward at play - go for it early and hope it comes off, or face losing wickets and struggling. Not as cut and dried as you make out.

Im not sure where you worked out that the stats back you up. I picked three excellent players, one opens for the WI and two play middle order for India, and compared them against England's top three. The difference was not as big as suggested. The stats dont lie, but you seem to think this is conclusive proof that Gayle scoring 6 more runs per 100 balls - at an average of 13 runs less per innings means something entirely different....

Of course you then have to equate bowlers and fielding into the equation...

Pretty sure Kohli is a number three. He scores at 10 runs more than bell though and 8 more then trott which yep makes a big difference. It isnt as cut and dried but its obvious that all three are far too similar. Like i say if we win anything with that top three ill be shocked and hold up my hands.

I'm no cricket expert but isn't Bob Willis a ex pro?

So what point is he trying to get across with that 1?

Against a weak attack and England were thinking more about this trophy than that series.
