He's the same age as Luke Steele who David Flitcroft stated is too old to be given a 2 year contract

    No NezBfc.

I'm getting a little annoyed and tried of these untruths.

Flitcroft never said he's too old to play for Barnsley Fc. Due to the fact that some people like to have ago at anyone who mentions these two bottom third championship players at max. Then people start to say things who i don't think have read the comments and start taking the comments out of context.

Flitcroft did NOT say 28 was too old to play football. Either for BArnsley Fc or any other team.

Er yes I have and the reason given for Steele not getting longer than one year was his age. I'm not questioning Flicker or his decision but why would he want to try and move one player on for age reasons but then bring in another who is the same age? And Steele is a better keeper.

"Flitcroft said: "If Luke was 22 then we'd offer him a two-year or three-year deal, but age is a critical thing"
Too old for a longer contract, only willing to offer one year to him because he is 28 not 22.

I think that this is all bluff to get Steele's wages down.

That was the comment Supertyke. Too old to play for us. That to me means at all on any contract or money.

    He didn't say that.

My personal opinion on reading the comment a few times is they don't want to commit to a longer term contract on the money they've offered and to me that's fine.
Steeles been out for 4/5 month in last 12/18 months or more. Now i don't want the club to start giving contracts to players like Steele who it seems we've got little comp for on top money for Barnsley Football Club

You're right hemsmunster, the Bobster will be playing at this level well into his 40s.

    Full quote...
David Flitcroft has admitted that he expects goalkeeper Luke Steele to depart the club this summer "If Luke was 22 then we'd offer him a two-year or three-year deal, but age is a critical thing and we don't know what our budget will be after this season so we have to plan carefully. You've only got to look at Manchester United and see how they do things. The best players in the world only get one-year deals when the time is right and we have to look at their example. I want players to be hungry and flexible and it could be that there is a bigger opportunity out there for Luke and I wouldn't want to stand in his way if that's what he wanted".

At what point did I say any of that.

My point is seen as it completely sailed over what grey matter you hold in your skull.

Any chance you have to dig at hassell or steele and your in. Post after ****ing post.

Its tedious. Its ***** and downright getting on lots of peoples tits.

Its about time you chilled out otherwise someone will take it one step too far and you will end up with a thick lip.

    At what level P72?

I would be interested to see who would offer Hassell a contract this summer.

Personally i think he would do well to get offered a contract at a bottom third league two club so barnsley have all the cards and can use them when ever they want.

Turnbull was good for us when he came on loan from Boro, but that was in League 1.

He'd be a decent number 2 to Luke, but I think he'll be wanting first team football. The whole "we have to look at his age"/28 thing is laughable. And Phil, stop being a prat.

If i was a football manager i would just walk into a press conference say, Hi and then walk out because people take what he's said out on contrast.
