XBox due this November at £429 RRP. PS4 due before Xmas at £349. If anyone is interested like. I think gaming is poop and for gaypuffs and it breeds serial killers. I'm gonna get the PS4.
There won't be much difference between those and the consoles already out will there? Not like last time when the difference was huge.
I'm kinda with you in that for me there is still a lot of life left in the PS3 yet. Graphically, games won't look THAT much better than current PS3 games I imagine, until developers experiment more and push the system to it's limits in another couple of years. I don't think you'd have seen games that look as good as Heavy Rain and The Last Of Us on the PS3 at launch. I'm gonna wait for a decent PS4 bundle probably next year before I buy. Not gonna touch XBox with a bargepole. At least the price of the PS4 on launch is much cheaper than the PS3 was.
I will definitely get one, probably the PS4 as it sounds like Microsoft have cocked it all up. Like you say my PS3 has plenty of life left in it plus its probably wise to wait until Sony have fixed any bugs etc the PS4 will bound to have upon release. The last of us is ordered and should be here on Friday, can't wait to sink my teeth into that! It looks brilliant!
Underwhelming Like you say, they don't seem to offer much over the exisiting machines. Gone are the days where a new system would knock your socks off with a significant jump. The extras seem more like gimmicks too. Now you can watch TV on your XBox. Your XBox that's connected to your TV. Hmm. Faffing. Gaming PC is the way to go for me. More upgradable and there's a better indie dev scene. Console hardware dates too quickly and the software carries heavy Sony/Microsoft tax. Now there's rumours the secondhand market will be stamped out too.
Agree with you two also. Still got my ps3 60GB from when it first come and it's still working fine. Don't go on it like i did when i first got it but it's good.
Re: Underwhelming That's the major downside to these consoles, especially the Xbox One, looks like games are going to cost around £40 + with no option to buy cheaper 2nd hand games. For me i just don't use my consoles enough anymore to justify paying all that money. The main thing i use my PS3 for is to watch Blu Ray's.
Re: Underwhelming Sure you can play second hand games on new xbox - you have to be on the internet to get an authentication code. Think Microsoft are working with certain retailers
Re: Underwhelming think i read that sony are considering a similar premise for ps4, 2nd hand games wont be wiped out but certainly wont be as cheap, especially the first year or 2
I'll get a PS4. Pleasantly surprised by the price though it will probably be months after the initial release in the US and Japan before it comes to Europe.
Still expecting pre-xmas over here mate. Although I think I'll wait a few months anyway to get a stellar bundle deal. Unfortunately I need a new boiler before then. Oh the joys of being a homeowner - I never had this problem with any of the other consoles! Boiler or PS4 - tough choice lol.
Re: Underwhelming you have to check in to Xbox live once every 24 hours in order to do anything on the console. if you do not, you can't do anything with it (imagine if your ISP went kaput!) you cannot use someone elses disc without paying a fee for it, believed to be the full RRP. to top it off, plugging in the kinect camera (which is always on) is mandatory so the US government can listen in to you people are really going to pay £429 for that?! don't even have to say what the PS4 does, Microsoft have sold it to everyone on Sony's behalf.
Re: Underwhelming Are Sony doing similar to the Microsoft connect system? It's the only thing I thinks better than what's on the ps3
My gaming days are over but you often find with the new consoles that the first lot of games made for them only use a fraction of the power available to them, in a few years I'm guessing the graphics will be almost photorealistic. For the price difference you have to consider that the Xbox comes with the new version of the Kinnect - which has actually been really good and a good laugh for parties.
