I think you need to read it back in context as a reply to Plankton Pete, mate.

I'm taking the piss out of those lads who are 'in the know' about Bobby's wages. Not him. Considering how unassuming he comes across I thought being that over the top made it abundantly obvious.

He`s escaped lightly out of all these character assassinations.

I feel for Flicker a bit regarding this, he is between a rock and a hard place.

Had Hassell not been on the verge of his 10th year I am positive he would have been shown the door, but due to him being so close to his testimonial year and due to the fact that he is regarded as a club legend it has forced Flicker to do the right thing. Clearly if it is a 70% reduction then that is an indication on how often Flicker intends to use Hassell next season. If he signs then it keeps the fans happy, if not he'll be criticised, but he is not prepared to spend a chunk of his wage budget to capture his signature as he wants to bring in a regular first team defender with the remaining 70%.

Personally I think the manager has done the right thing, it is a battle between heart and mind and he's met it half way, a 1 year testimonial contract but on a fringe player wage, it means we can sign another defender. As opposed to a first team wage for Hassell and no additional defender.

    I'm Cranie I earn £1.5k a week. I want my wage doubling ! = to £3K

    I'm Bobby I'm on £10 a week I'm not happy with a 70% reduction. = to £3k

All this ******* speculation about percentages is absolutely slow news close season pap.

No real judgement can be made unless the actual amounts are known... Strewth.

The only comment I will make is that I think Flitcroft was ill advised about the reason for Steele being offered a one year deal was to do with his age.

I know what you were trying to do, but it doesn't come across that way at all.

I think I'm averagely intelligent, I've got a decent sense of humour, I tend to be able follow a line of discussion whether it's serious or taking the piss, (I'm not blowing my own trumpet, I'm just average) and as an average person reading that it sounds like you're having a go at both Bobby Hassell and the people who claim to be in the know. But much more so at Bobby Hassell. And even more so if you follow the rest of the things you've said on the subject.

Doesn't matter like, you can say what you want, but I'm just telling you that there's a wide gulf between your intentions and what is coming across.

I don't see that it's come across like that. If you think it has fair enough, certainly wasn't my intention.

I wasn't trying to assasinate his characther, merely stating that I don't think he's as good as is made out. Rolls Royce and all that. Of course, BFC Dave is quite right that doubling his wage might only mean moving him to parity with others.

We just don't know but what fun it is to speculate and conject on the internet for shits and giggles.

Personaly, I'm not reight bothered what happens. I hope we aren't fighting relegation next season and can at least be aiming to be higher in the league but at the end of the day it gets dark and its a game. Albeit one where we get incredibly emotionally attached for no rational reason.

To be fair, whether it does or it doesn't, I shouldn't be telling you off anyway. Who the **** do I think I am? What a nob head. Apologies.

Start one about a hard working Muslim who has integrated in British society but has avoided paying all his due tax.

The internet will be shut by 2pm.
