Re: Most of my practical work I think I managed to cover some of those eras... wasn't allowed to photograph some of the items but got a large array of the cabinets, mainly pottery. And hopefully you'll be able to zoom and pick out the signs stating the period. Most were between 1700bc to the end of the roman empire. They were from the museum in Amman which actually has the dead sea scrolls although they aren't on show. Petra were just pictures of the site which is just huge, way bigger than I thought. It's 2/3 miles to the Treasury and then a further 2-3 miles to the Monastery (up 950 steep steps carved in the rock in 40 degree heat!) There was a dig funded by Americans at the site of a Roman market and colonnaded street and there were dozens of carved tombs in the red rock faces most of the way down.
Re: Behave There were lots of donkeys being pushed by the local Bedouins... but that just seemed like cheating!
I also love anything from Prehistory... ...(Palaeolithic, Mesolithic, Neolithic, Bronze Age, Iron Age, Weststandbogsolithic).
Re: I also love anything from Prehistory... Love it! Weststandbogsolithic, what a word for my 22 000th post. You, sir, are a creative genius!
Re: I also love anything from Prehistory... Do you think it'll eventually make the Oxford English Dictionary?
Thank you Wonderful, especially when you think they're approximately 10 000 years old. Neolithic remote controls were quite bulky!
