Three days ago they created a thread on OwlsTalk saying they were after Jennings, and there were myriad posts saying what a great signing it'd be. Fast forward to today and he's gash, Wednesday were never interested, and he wouldn't be able to handle their 25,000 gates. They also still believe that based purely on beating us twice they're the better side. Yep, still deluded. Back in the real world, the club who according to Wednesday "can't compete" with them, have just spent 250k on a kid they were after, and are about to sign their best striker for close to half a million pounds. Half a million that will fund their own move for Kevin Davies. They're becoming as humorous as their Blunt brothers.
would be great to tie the cog deal up. an oakwell opener against our s6 friends, with cog & jennings wrapping up a 2-0 win. rather nice
Check out Down at the Mac, a similar theme. Obviously they never went in for him as he didn't join. I know 2 posters of owlstalk at work, delusion is a topic which comes to mind.
Some fans just can't think objectively about a player if their rivals sign them. Don't like Leeds but at least I had a couple of positive comments from Leeds fans about the signing.
To be fair, there's a lot of sense on it as well, and it's got quality threads in the non football section.
Rumoured to be something around that figure but I think Rochdale get a percentage. I hope so. That will fund swimming lessons for Sidney and Keith a new barbour.
Wednesday and Hudds fans are bitter because they lost the race. According to the Daily Mail, Blackburn were also considering making a £350,000 bid for him in May. I know its only the Daily Mail but it was from the same journalist (Simon Jones) who reported that he was in talks with us on Monday about a £250,000 move. Sounds like we got a good deal and surprised a few teams. Perhaps the vast experience and networking skills of our new chairman helped immensely. Negotiating with major European clubs like Bayern, will be second nature to him.
It's the Championship transfer of the summer so far. I can see Dale setting the league on fire, then we lose him in January.
Blackburn - a club on it's arse where you've no idea who the manager is going to be with each passing week, and finances so bad you're likely to not get paid at some point. Huddersfield - a club where you're likely to be dropped in favour of one of Mark's high cost loanees.... Wednesday - playing piggy in the middle and getting grief off the Fritzl's because "da no Waddle dee son"... Or Tarn. Easy decision.
"Good investment" It is clear to me that we intend to sell him to Leicester for £2.25m in January, then replace him with Hammill (warming the bench at Wolves) for £250,000. Then they intend to use the £2m profit to build a new Watkins/Manford stand and hire Stuart Pearce as director of football.
They're a better side because they finished above us mate. And let's not pretend it's just Wednesday that are supported by bell ends.
They did finish above us. But no way are they a better 'side' than us. And I never stated only Wednesday had bellends for fans. We've got our fair share, as I know only too well. Just cos tha doing spreadsheets tha starts picking on me. Basterd.
It's 300k for CO'G the Fritzls will be making the 500k figure up to make it look like they made a profit on him, it's then taken off Porktalk to Radio Sheffield.... It'd be the end of the world if little old Barnsley had scuttled them with the deal. Haven't they lost money on C'OG. In other news l cannot wait until we see who Milan flogs them to, he'll leave them in some right **** once he's bored. Another Pompey were hoping...
They are deluded. on footballforums.net some Wednesday fan even said "we played you of the park" and "play much better football"
