Great start by England. Day off work to watch this, weather looks good down there so should get a full game, fixtures are out, Jennings has signed, COG today would be fantastic. Feeling good.

Halfway there already. I'd be tempted to keep Anderson on and try an bowl them all out without needing to use our poorer bowlers.

Disagree. It took many more games for Anderson to overtake him and Gough has a better economy too.

    Dreamboy.

Remember anderson was third fiddle for a long time.

class bowler. I would have him above anyone.

Different era. Majority of gough's career was pre T20. 300 in an innings was a rarity back then, much more common now so I'd expect Andersons figures to be more expensive.

Gough had more variety though and I'd say he could play in varied conditions whereas Jimmy needs it to swing. When it does he's currently the best swing bowler in the world (certainly at test level)

Anderson did take a while to mature. He is a better bowler now than Gough was. Gough was very good though.

We could do with getting a wicket before these two do anymore damage. If they get 180 then there will still be a fair amount of work to do.

Thankfully they don't have Steyn so I can't see us having too much trouble.

If they go the full 50 it is going to be a useful total.
