Nowhere did I ignore his attributes. I wanted him to stay. He had some corkers last season and showed his worth. My point being he's not the answer to any of our defensive problems. Considering Foster played more than Hassell last season & is younger I'm surprised he wasn't offered a deal. A toss up between the two and I'd have kept him.
Re: So Agree with that. I also think the club had an opportunity to maximize the wage cut with Bobby. Like you say he is settled down in the area with a young family, testimonial if he stays on another year etc. Likely to sign. Although a wage cut was in order to reflect his new squad status (backup), a 70% (as reported by the Barnsley Chronicle) wage cut seemed slightly unfair. Every contract will be negotiated further to suit both parties though and maybe that is what has happened. Anyway, pre-season training starts tomorrow, be great if Steele and Cranie turn up!
That's a real shock that he mentioned Celtic The only team that'll fetch over 3,000 fans to Barnsley for a testimonial
