We done this a few years ago, didn't we? Would anyone be up for it again? If we can get enough involved, £5 or £10 donation and then a raffle at the end of the season to see who gets the shirt, etc. All suggestions, comments welcome. Tell me to **** off if you wish
this is seriously not a sarcastic question, i genuinely just don't know. what would it be sponsoring - and why?
I thought about doing this again - decided against it. For a start I don't think there was any real appreciation of the £120 I gave 'em. Granted I got the shirt but no thank you letter, no correspondence & then at the end of the season a folded up shirt in a jiffy bag. Magic. I'd do something like this and donate to charity but not to the club. Reckon they get enough.
I organised a London Tykes player sponsorship, kiss of death letting me do it. Started with Geronimo - crap, left. Switched to Gary O'Connor - drink/drug/car problems, left. Finally ended up with Nathan Doyle for the last two weeks who gets released once Keith Hill takes over from Mark Robins who has also erm, left the club. So let me organise it and chose a player nobody likes. The shirt we got was really nice though, proper match day shirt not a club shop replica and the one-off Marie Curie badges, signed by Nathan. I wanted a Jeronimo shirt, signed by Gary O'Connor and worn by Nathan Doyle, but they wouldn't have it. Me and Biglil did meet Gary though. Eyes like piss holes in the snow, if you know what I mean kids.
Re: can we sponsor Sir Bobby....I speak on behalf of Hemsie OFC The Disabled Supporters do Bobby every season. Let's do Dale Jennings, I'll throw a tenner in.
If ALL proceeds go to Charity, I'm in (depending on the Charity). The Club should be donating the shirt.
