Good business for us to miss out on Stead, that's for sure.

    In my totally unbiased opinion

I prefer our signings of Dale Jennings & Chris O'Grady.

Admittedly, if i was offered Jennings and O'Grady OR Stead and Hammill, i would take the former any day of the week.

Hammill - If Robbins can get him to replicate the form he showed under him at Barnsley, then it will obviously be a great signing.

Stead - He seems to always score/have a good game against us, so i can see why Flicker showed an interest. Obviously the deal became 'dead' when Huddersfield rocked up. He has supported them since a kid, wants to move back to Holmfirth, and Huddersfield will have been able to offer him similar wages to what he was on at Bristol.

But like JLWBigLil has said, i would take Jennings (Bargain, got huge potential, couldn't be in better hands with Flicker/Mellon/Scott at this stage of his career) and O'Grady (his loan last season was like a trial, no risk, he will put 110% effort into the cause and score goals/assist too) over them.

Very happy Stead hasn't signed for us. He's an Huddersfield lad and can see why he went there. We was linked with him when Robins was our manager so he obviously likes him.

I would have liked to have signed Hammill but again, Dale Jennings is a superb player with a lot more potential. Agree with the comment earlier, O'Grady and Jennings are better signings and if that carries on throughout Pre season and up to the loan market, we'll finish above Huddersfield comfortably.

We blatantly need another forward and cannot see it being Higdon. Stead didn't reply to The Don because he had Huddersfield lined up. That gives me the impression Higdon has also found another club so hopefully Flicker has lined up another ambitious gem.

I agree. Good business for us not to bring in a drunken woman beater and a guy who's championship scoring record isn't much different to that of Odejayi.

I'd take Jennings and O Grady over those two any day.

Decent signings for both clubs but I agree I'm happier with ours. Probably better value for money too.

Anyway, heres hoping both us and Hudders have good seasons. I'm still high on Yorkshire goodwill from a sunny day in May!

Hammill played by far the best football of his career under Robins for Barnsley. If he can reproduce that again, Huddersfield have got a reight player. Best of luck to both of them, I liked Robins as a manager and I liked Hammill as a player, although I hope we stuff them home and away.

Didnt Stead go somewherre for 7 milkion somewhere in his career, I remember a mutual frie d telling me stead got 700k as part of the deal, probably what ruined him! Sure he said that stead grew up with same players around him and they knew his game inside out which is why he was so effective at the time.

When he first left Udders he went for a big fee to Blackburn I think. They sold him for a wedge too IIRC. Don't remember it being owt like £7m though.
