Hi, if anyone knows of any Polish language speakers, of either Fluent or Very good quality looking for work, drop me an email on chicagotyke at gmail.com Our company has taken on alot of extra contracts and we are looking for polish speakers to help us out for an 8 month period. all visa's will be soretd for you, and accomodation and a great wage provided. As chicago has the highest area of Polish speakers outside of Warsaw we are despertaley needing people. Thought I would drop a message on here, as alot of polish immigrants came to Barnsley years ago ( my mother is thats how i speak the language ) If anyone is interested or knows someone who may be let me know Cheers
Emailing you now - my partner is Polish and as we are about to move up north she is definitely in the market for a decent job. She is university educated so hopefully will fit the bill.
Yessss, and your point is?? This would give me carte blanche to go to every AWAY game I want to, as well as all the home games. Jobs a good un.....
Thanks, I will look into it and put it on the pile of applications. We mainly specialise in construction workers, we get building contracts and employ local Polish labour, but as alot aren't fully conversant in English, we need translators to attend site daily and translate what they need to do, it will all be writen down, just needs speaking to them. No previous construction knowledge is needed as the people will only be translating not managing the projects.
We only translate Polish, sorry. Its just that chicago has hundreds of thousands of Polish migrants, Although with how many Russians are entering recently we may branch out to Russian in the future
Excuse my ignorance but why won't English speaking Americans do the work? I thought it was only here where benefits mean "it's not worth getting up to go to work".
As the majority of people in Chicago go into college, and don't study at technical college ( as its called over here ) there is a shortage of construction workers, although the migrant community ( mainly polish, compared to southern American like in other areas ) all tend to be qualified tradespeople, who do a good job at reasonable rates. Our company works with a well known Illinois construction firm, where we translate for the workers who don't have such great english skills.
I didn't know they were going to the USA as well as Britain, Ireland, Germany, Sweden etc Can't be long before Poland is empty.
Hey Chi-town have you thought about doing the same service in the UK, I worked in construction and before i left the UK was having the same problem. Although in my opinion if they cant speak English and understand instruction they are a danger not only to themselves but to the rest of the site aswell.
We are not allowed to employ from outside of the states, unless we can prove that there is a shortage of people who are in the desired employment. so unfortunately we can't hire foreign workers, unless they already hold visa's or a green card. Its to try and keep Americans in jobs, ( rather a good idea I think personally ) We did search abroad for drainage CCTV survey operators who are qualified to use Wincam, as there was no people locally to suit the job, but those positions have been filled.
We had planned on translating in England, but to be fair it wasn't a big enough market, as England tend to has different variations of languages, not just Polish like here in Chicago, we have never had any problems with health and saftey tbh, as they tend to work together and always tend to work safe. Also i prefered to live out here instead of the UK, much the opposite to my american wifes views ha. Just wish my child would use football instead of the term soccer and i would be perfectly happy.
You sound like me and my missus! We joked that we'd argue about where to live and the loser stayed put! Mind you, can't tell you how great it feels when I hear her tell people that she wouldn't want to move back, not because I would be against moving there but it just means she's happy, settled and we don't have arguments over it like many I hear of on the ex-pat boards.
Ha, well i fell in love with the states, and she fell in love with England, she came over after she had done college travelling, dropped on me, we stayed here 4 years, been in america 8 now, but personally i feel abit better quality of life, wlthough she will say different ha, although now we have settled down with kids etc, says there is no where else she would rather live, thankfully as i'm sick of bleeding moving, moved across 3 states in America already
Know what you mean about soccer/football. I have just started a girls under 10 team and i cant stand them saying soccer lol. I will give them all true english/tarn terminology for the coming season. I love it here the weathers great the people are so friendly and theres so much to see,do and eat. My wifes jewish so when we eat out i make sure I take care of my ham/bacon cravings. We go to the beech every other weekend in summer as my mother in law has a Ocean front apartment in Ocean city MD. Just wish i could find a damn job.
