Really happy were not in the market for Higdon, far too many SPL players have come to this division and flopped. Slight shame regarding El-Abd as Brighton fans seem to rate him very highly.
listen carefully to the boo he does not actually say that tthey are dead deals at all.... he does say not in the immediate future. So we could be looking at the January window.
Re: listen carefully to the boo Why would we be looking at the January window for two out of contract players? They will both have another club by then.
Re: what I mean is The fact that Flicker has sat down with 4/5 defenders, and is actively seeking a striker/right back, would suggest we aren't going with what we have. We were well short of defenders towards the end of last season and Foster was still at the club then. Also, we have a small budget, i cant see Flicker ignoring all the out of contract players over the next 5 weeks, waiting 6 months until January, to then start spending cash the club hasn't got. January is more of a loan window for us. To put it into perspective, Blackpool are looking to recruit up to 10 players in 5 and a half weeks. They have lost a lot of players to other clubs and to add to their problem, Tom Ince is now heading for the exit door. Still plenty of time yet, retaining the out of contract players was a priority. Flicker can now really push on with the recruitment drive, knowing that the foundations (mixed with a bit of Dale Jennings) have been set.
