Before the BBS had its downturn recently there was a lot of ******** being dished out to those who questioned flickers statement re steele being too old for a two year deal. It came after some meal where he said the paper had taken it out of context. It was mostly clear to those with clarity of thought that flicker realised his balls up and tried to cover it up by saying thats completely not what he meant, when in reality he was trying to bluff his way out of an awkward position.

Cue one week later, a contract signed that had doubled in length and luke in an interview stating the age thing was clearly ******** from whoever said it. In reality this post is as much ******** as the original age statement but its just a reminder to the muppets who started having a go at those constructively criticising one decision whilst completely being behind flicker.

    Glad you've signed luke lad.

just to be really clear, before you start attacking us mere fans - this 'whoever', who offered a 1yr contract and used age as the explanation - was david flitcroft

Not really that difficult to fathom. Luke gets offered a one year deal. Luke says no. David says luke is too old. Ben says heres a two year deal. Luke says yes. Kudos.

That was the whole point that those who questioned flickers explanation were lynched for being against the team when in reality they were making a valid constructive point whilst still saying they backed him.

In all honesty have you never thought this whole forum is pointless as its only football and these are only peoples opinions. It can be taken to the "n"th degree. I never asked you to respond but cheers for responding to a pointless thread with an even more pointless response.

Yes. This thread is going places. I'd say it has something to do with synergy and memory's.

Luke wasn't offered a 1 year deal because he was too old, that's just nonsense. Flicker would never mean that.

He was offered a 1 year deal because Flicker thought it was unfair to tie him down on poor wages for 2 years when he's at that age now, in his prime, where he could demand a much higher wage. Would you take a wage deduction for 2 years rather than 1?

I'd guess that the wage offered has been significantly increased and as a consequence, as has the length.

As for the point you're trying to make with that post, I'm at a loss.

    Honestly, i mean honestly?

And my point was that we dont all have to dance to the tune without giving reasonable questioning to certain decisions. It doesnt make us cnuts.

Re: is this the BBS equivalant of

Yeah its definitely born out of a lack of the BBS for a week and a lack of on field action. Good observation. I felt it was a far too tough warm up for a few quick responders but LD red came match ready.

Always lots of talk and ********. So what i interpret as heard from the horses mouth was (public by the way not in a corner of a private dinner)

Steele looked for a top six or premiership move. Flicker agreed not to stand in his way but wanted him to stay. Gave him the opportunity to do so. Steel gave Barnsley the opportunity to look elsewhere. Both did that. Both then agreed that the best thing for both parties was for Steele to stay for two years. Guess what, normal negotiations, normal football activities. I must say handled well by Steele and Flicker but of course people read the speculation more than the facts.
