You're offered a contract on awful wages. You know that there's a good chance that now, or in a years time, you could get a much better deal elsewhere. How long would you sign for? It's like taking out a fixed rate mortgage for two years rather than one when you know interest rates are going to come down.
Beyond caring now. Bob and Luke are signed up on improved deals and I don't care who gets the credit, just that they're here, where they belong.

Yet you still fail to answer the question. Why offer a contract that he's even more unlikely to sign? Do you honestly think that Luke has signed for the wages initially offered, and that an extra year was all he wanted?
