Ex Celtic central defender at Boro' Apparently we're looking at him along with Ipswich, Motherwell, and Hibs. Or so says Scott Burns, Scottish Daily Express football writer/reporter
Apparently we are also interested in him. I think his association with Jackie Macnamara at Celtic has something to do with it. TBH I think he has had his day. Really don't know if I'd want to see him at Tannadice. Same for Barnsley. I think there could be better options going about.
Always thought he was made of glass, even while at Celtic. Used to see him playing pool with his old man in Bellshill, surprised he never tripped over the table with his track record of injuries.
Got some size/presence about him, captained (I think) both Celtic and his country, should be in his prime given his age, exactly the type of experienced leader we badly need in the back four. If we can afford him and he'd be interested in joining us, I'd drive up to Scotland and bring him back down to Oakwell myself. Only worry is the injury/health situation you both mention, last thing we need is another Rob Edwards, particularly given we've only just managed to get rid of the original.
Been absolutely gash in this division. Not bothered that he captained Celtic because the SPL is about as competitive as a javelin throw-off between me and Fatima Whitbread. If we sign him having released Foz I will go apeshit.
Good news, though, that we are looking at this calibre of player in the central defensive position. Could be an interesting week and we need the management to pull at least one good signing out of the bag,
Wikipedia says he's 6ft 2 so based on what Lord Flicker as said it would appear he's too tall for what we are looking for, so probably no truth in the rumour.
McManus is a good footballer and a good defender on his day, but previous injuries may have hampered him. I hope he does sign for Motherwell and does well for them, I don't think he's Championship quality any more though.
Any one on here got a copy of football Manager 2013? What are Mcmnanus' stats for: Acceleration, Pace, Agility, Composure, Passing If they are between 15-20, then he has got the right DNA for this football club, if not, we move on.
I have. And no. There's a lad called Wiseman on it though. Got pace to burn and great influence stats. We ought to get him in and make him captain.
Apparently Motherwell cannot meet his wage demands. So it’s down to us, Ipswich and Hibs(who are also skint).
