Their Chairman says it's a "gift" for their fans loyalty, properly laughing. In the words of the Bayern Munich president, "We do not think the fans are like cows, who you milk. Football has got to be for everybody. 'That's the biggest difference between us and England."
Just heard about this, what a f**king disgrace charging fans that for a friendly, bad enough paying that much for an FA Cup Semi-Final...but at least that is at Wembley and one of the most important games a club can ever have.
£1.5M apparently, but it's alright, their fans will be fleeced for that while the Chairman pockets the rest as his gift to them.
If BFC did it I'd hope they charged season ticket holders £25 and members or people with so many stubs etc....and non season ticket holders £50. £48 if you have that Colchester ticket stub.....
As gifts go I think this had to be w@nkest gift I've ever heard about. I might try a similar policy the next time we present a member of staff with a long service and loyalty award. I reckon we could learn a lot from football.
Ditto. Got you loads this year, can't wait to give them to you. Oh by the way can you leave a hundred quid with Mum. Cheers.
Think I'll but my mum and dad a Holiday in Spain this year. I'll pay for the Hotel, but tell the they need to pay for their flights and the hotel is self catering Enjoy ya Gift
Without a shadow of a doubt, in a moments heartbeat, I would pay for that. I got Rolling Stones tickets and I paid more than that. To see my beloved Barnsley FC play Real Madrid at Oakwell I would rip your arms off. Don... I mean Ben... Sort it out and you have my £60 within seconds, literally. EDIT: And all this grumble from people who are willing to pay £40 for a shirt (probably, I'm assuming). £40 for a shirt you'll wear for a year or two or £60 for a lifetime of memories - "I saw Real Madrid at Oakwell!" - give me the latter any day.
Just had a look and Bournemouth's stadium only holds 9600, so assuming they sell out they're not going to get half the money back and that's without the cost of policing etc
It's tonight. 12,000 sell out and a new stand opened to increase the capacity. So I reckon that answers mi own question!!!!!
Fleeced by their own club, hope they enjoy their night. I'd rather pay £15 to watch us play Bordeaux than £60 for Real Madrid.
