Every laiker he's signed was here when he arrived or had played in the North West at some point.

Not a chance of us signing any Spanish lad unless it's Roberto Martinez.

To be fair to the north-west it has produced a massive amount of talent over the years, lads who have spent all their life living in the south-east are never gonna leave that area and come up North - they are taught as kids down there how grim it is up here and were probably under the impression that's where all their harvest festival contributions were going!

Remember the time our scouting network concentrated within a square mile of the Cheltenham ground

That's my only concern regarding Flicka...........that he hasn't got a nose for a player like the great Keith Hill has.

Stand back and wait for the abuse.......

Keith Hill was criticized for bringing in lower league players, this is Flicker's first pre-season transfer window and he's managed to keep all our good players, sign up O'Grady, bring in Dale Jennings, and the players we are linked with have generally got quite a lot of Championship experience. I don't see how anyone can question is transfer policy so far? Going back to January he brought Scotland in who was a lot better than any of us thought.

Fair to say he probably has quite a bit more money to play with than Keith Hill did though.

    Has he?

I'd say transfer income apart the budgets are very similar.

Lets be right at one point last season we had 35 pros on the books

Getting rid of the dead wood will have obviously helped with what we can do this summer, I can't think of anyone out of the current group of pros who I wouldn't be happy to see in the team. For me we need a core of around 20 senior pros (not sure how many we have at the moment, could already be a few more than that) and above that we rely on some of the talented former academy lads.
