People with normal names are all worthless ***** from chav parents and she thinks that her, and her kids with their poncey names are too good for them. If your name is common then she want's nothing to do with you. In other words she is a bigoted, lovely person who thinks she is better than everyone else.
She's from apprentice isn't she? I would love to see her go up against Lord Sugar with them views. He would destroy her.
Says she hates children's names that are also geographical locations...yet she has a child called India.
And she thinks that people with common names are bad people who she wants nothing to do with yet she is called Katie and her husband is called Mark. Two of the most common names around.
yep. definitely not staged, in any way, for ratings and media sensationalism. definitely not. holly willoughby, voice of a generation.
My guess is that Willoughby's reaction wasn't staged but that the guest was deliberately chosen to provoke a reaction and her opinions were exaggerated/made up by herself in order to get her name known and make some money.
Although it is a deliberately exaggerated point made by an utterly odious individual, I do have some sympathy with the core of her argument. No parent would want their kids being dragged down by poorly behaved chavvy kids. A name is a potential indicator, albeit an imperfect one. Fans of Freakenomics will be aware of that there is lots of research that shows that names can have a large bearing on life outcomes. Basically, choosing a chavvy or ''black-identifying'' name (like Dwayne) is not going to do your kid any favours.
I feel the same as a primary teacher - name Leighton still gives me nightmares. Don't agree with the the vast number of things that this odious little women said though which was basically a dig at the lower classes
Nah. Just a pain in the arse to fit the name in your mark book. Wonder what would happen if 2 people with double-barrelled names got married?
Someone in my class this year has a double barrelled first and last name!! It doesn't fit on anything - I have to put it in a font about 4 times smaller than everyone elses.
