i wouldn't be surprised me if the vast amount of people who don't care, weren't planning on going to the game. i could be wrong of course

I think it's funny how bias they are towards Leeds, considering they've been small time for quite a while now.

I would have preferred if they picked a team like millwall instead of a derby game.

Me too. Millwall away, Ipswich away, some game that I'd never even contemplate attending.
In fact, to continue their obsession, why not Leeds away?
    .
Gives Wednesday fans another excuse to fetch under 4,000 though.
"daz gotta be joking, ar carnt get to Barnsley for dat time, at 23 quid a ticket.. Halloween is coming up da knows, al watch it ont box"

Just out of curiosity, is there anything stopping BFC from refusing to moving kick off to accommodate Sky? Or would they be in breach of contract?

Why is bringing the kick off forward by two and half hours meaning that some people can't go? Long enough away to make other arrangements for that day, if it's because of work then have you heard of annual leave?

I'd much rather Sky had left this game alone, the close proximity of both clubs always brings the part-timers out who may come to this game and then start coming more often if they have a good time. Now they'll just be watching in their living room or the pub and will quickly forget about it after.

If it's a police thing and Sky have thought the time suits them so they'll show it, I don't think bringing a kick-off forward does much to stop any trouble that might brew. If anything, people will compensate by starting drinking much earlier and will probably not eat as much which makes them more pi$$ed. (The Leeds away game that was something like a 12 o'clock kick off a few years ago I was probably the most drunk I've ever been at a football match).

Not that I think there will be trouble anyway, people have moved on from that and found a level with 'banter'. There wasn't even a hint of it at either game last season. Last time I remember trouble with us and Wednesday was about ten years ago but that seemed to be more between riot police and kids on Peel Street, was more comical to watch than anything.

And to those who don't have Sky, don't want Sky and are getting royally pi55ed off with them interfering with the game, the fans, kick off times and everything else. I wish they would **** off and take the armchair generation of fans with them.

A lot of people in this thread seem to have forgotten that ultimately Barnsley Football Club decided that this match would be on TV not Sky, Sky merely made an offer which the club decided to accept.

And i'm currently pissing myself laughing at the hypocrisy of people who were up in arms a few months ago when the police stopped us appearing on sky but are now up in arms because we're on sky

Wrong, a club can decide not to play the fixture on Sky.

A couple or so years ago Doncaster Refused to play Barnsley on Sky at Keepmoat...

Fed up of people moaning constantly.

Sky is without a doubt a good thing for football, bring so much revenue into the league. We get about £3million a year from sky, that's what keeps us running, so before you slag them off, think about it.
