Looks like it's collapsed again, sorry if already posted. Hope the link below works. http://www.irishtimes.com/business/...e-contract-case-collapses-in-london-1.1458314
Does that mean champagne corks a popping in Buxton tonight? They're hardly likely to try again, it sounds like there isn't a solid case.
Agreed, miraculous or otherwise. Get back to Oakwell soon Patrick, the revolution will not be televised.
Just think how this would look to Barnsley fans if it had been Milan Mandric in court, oh how we would have laughed and called him names, but because it is Saint Patrick , its all good eh ?
hmm Struggling to understand the reasons for the retrial failure "...trial collapsed after Judge Anthony Leonard QC discharged the jury for reasons which cannot be reported...." I cant think of any reasons to discharge a jury and force a collapse of a trial over 3 months old that then cannot be reported at all - seems bizarre to me Mind you the article did also incorrectly state that Cryne was involved in the first trial - which isnt my recollection. I have no idea whether the Isoft 4 are guilty or innocenet - but I must admit our legal system is not bringing any clarity on this issue at all
I am only summising and basically guessing, but I reckon part of the problem with trials of this nature is how complicated they are - imagine, as a regular kind of guy with no special finance knowledge, being brought onto a jury to listen to 3 months worth of financial legalities being argued through - how on earth is that something you can get your head around?. I think trials of this nature should be adjudicated on by a specialist selected panel of experts not a randomly selected jury.
What they did goes on all the time, should never have got as far as it has. The banks are the real crooks - who else can lend someone £200,000 to buy a house without actually having that money but earn the interest off the repayments? The financial, welfare, healthcare and education system in this country is f**ked, which ironically is probably why people haven't questioned it.
Personally think this whole affair is murky. A trial collapsing "for reasons which cannot be reported" is a load of bollock$. They should either tell us why, or get on with the trial and let the facts speak
