A QPR page on twitter are reporting that we've had a six figure fee accepted, and Johnson is now in talks with Barnsley representatives.
Unless Flicker was just saying that to keep it all on the down low so it doesn't spiral out of control and alert every other club in the country. i'd rather have quality players brought in under the radar than the club shout about everything they do transfer wise. The transfer market really is just a massive game of chess.
Technically we wasn't in talks with him till today, I prefer the idea of hush hush to the media regarding transfers. What's people's opinions on this signing?
I can't make my mind up on this one if it's true, on one hand it's certainly a quality signing and he knows where the bag of the net is but hasn't he been injury prone over the last few years
Anyone else have a sneaking suspicion his signing will be announced with the next 2 days? Im hopeful.
I'd be pleased, providing we weren't shelling out too much on him. As others have said, he could end up being a liability with his injury record, but if he can stay fit he'd be a right signing. A risk worth taking I'd say, provided the financial side of the deal was right for the club. Which if any deal is done, I have no doubt it will be.
Proven experienced goal scorer if we can keep him fit. His injury record is bad though and it depends on how well he gets over his cruiciate damage from last year.
His agent was pushing the idea he'd be happy to return to QPR. He's currently with QPR down on their Devon tour. I find this one astonishing to be honest. He must be on a very good wage at QPR, as seemingly many of their players are. I cant imagine we could afford a fee and his wages?
I've read a few comments from QPR fans and they say he was on fire for them before his injury. I also remember him having bags of pace too which is something we lack upfront at the minute.
Maybe they'd be willing to contribute to his wages or pay off a portion of his contract in order to get him off their wage bill?
Just looked at his injury record, doesn't look good at all, been injured every season through his entire career, a like the player he would be quality if stays injury free, hope its a gamble that pays off, no doubt he would be the highest earner in our team. If the rumour is true A trust flicker tho
Could be but i would have thought we'd be further down the line of clubs he wants to go to and clubs who wanted him and could afford to pay for him. It would certainly show that we have more ambition and clout behind the scenes if he did come.
Re: He's also got a great work ethic Strange if it's happening considering Flicker said "its deffinately not a name thats come up. Deffinately not." **** knows.
Re: He's also got a great work ethic I did think it was strange as he dismissed it and moved on very quickly as flicker usually has a lot to say when asked questions. I personally would have done exactly the same if I was trying to sign a player.
Re: He's also got a great work ethic I did think it was strange at the time but then forgot about it. If hes saying it to quash interest from others then fair play
