Just kicked off, starting XI: Steele, Scott, McNulty, Kennedy, O'Brien, Patterson, Digby, Cywka, Clark, RNL, Scotland. don't know what influence this might have on the team tomorrow v Club Brugge
Steele will probably be the only regular starter from that team when the season starts so tomorrow could be....... GK: Alnwick (Steele starts 1st game) LB: Golbourne. RB: Wiseman (i'd prefer Sir Bobby) CB: Cranie. CB: Nyatanga. LW: Jennings. RW: Mellis. CM: Tutu. CM: Dawson or Perkins (probably split games in season) ST: O Grady. ST: Dagnall ( replaced in time for 1st game by a marquee striker probably on loan). To me a team like that with the fringe players who are playing today looks strong on paper and not a team that will be fighting a relegation battle.
Cant see any of the players playing 2 games in 2 days, they need time for recovery (atleast 48 hours). Sounds like we could be putting a strong team out tomorrow night then. Could be: Ainwick Wiseman Cranie Nyatanga Golbourne Jennings Perkins Etuhu/Dawson Mellis O'Grady Dagnall I think Danny Rose is injured, so wont be playing today/tomorrow

Bruges best priced 5/6 to beat us tomorrow night with Bet 365 according to Oddschecker. 5/2 us to win if Steele is playing.
Maybe play Dawson right..Mellis left and Perks with Kelv in the middle...and play Jennings just behind Cog, drop Daggers...another option, just a thought
Just a few notes. Tomorrow i think both Ben Alnwick/ Luke steele will play tomorrow. Luke played in the first half today and made some really good instinct saves. In the first half Ben did the training stuff with Ian Wilcox and in the second half Steele did it for about twenty minutes. The goals weren't Ben's fault.. Shot from 18 yards ish with little pressure on the ball. Second the ball somehow found its way to the back post and it was a simple tap in all though the celebrations were OTT. I thought the younger players played well. Reuben was the nominated captain and did the rituals before the game. When Digby gets fully fit he'll be in the first team. Only played 45 minutes today. The other youngsters looked good. Overheard Ben Mansford say to one of his friends, that’s Paul Digby, then something like one of the futures stars. I was thinking at the time, yes ben. If anyone asks tell them a crystal palace style figure Nice to see most of the squad there to be honest. Good team spirit... I asked Jennings if he'll play tomorrow and he said not sure maybe 30 minutes. Not sure if that's the truth or didn't want to tell anyone or even maybe he didn't know. Spoke to Luke Steele on the way out, asked if he's looking forward to the new season and he said yes i'm really looking forward to it. Said did you enjoy Spain and he hit me with yes but it was hard out there, Wasn't a Holiday although i wish it was. Also i don't remember Lewin Nyatanga been so muscular and tall.
So this was a behind closed doors friendly but anyone who turned up could watch? Not that I would have been able to do being one of the many people who work so that others don't have to!
WHAT!!!! 2-0 up and only draw...grrrrr. Not good enough..Flitcroft's lost the dressing room, players still on beach, a Rochdale conspiracy, sack everyone above tea lady status...grrrr...gibber, gibber, whooooo
