I know it's only 30 minutes of a friendly, but he looks a nailed on starter to me. Some of those passes he was pinging, were Beckham/Gerrard-esque. Not being clever or owt, but he does remind me of Butterfield in terms of being young yet always asking for the ball and dictating play. That's the sign of confidence. Hopefully - in a selfish BFC fans way - this will push Daws and Yaya to work even harder to get a starting place. Because Perks is also nailed on, for me. Amazed that nobody has tested us with a cheeky bid for him. Must be the age that puts off potential suitors, because he's a top end Championship laiker in my opinion. We're blessed, with this midfield. Thought young Patterson looked lively as well, and Reubs again. New Era, indeed. *Bit of criticism - Alnwick and O'Brien have a lot to do.
now is the time to tell him unless he signs a 6 year deal he'll find it very hard to brake into the team then, go on Ben get the little B'astard
Really? Seemed on it straight away to me. Proved me wrong anyway, I've heard all this "we've got a youngster who is going to be a star" nonsense a million times concerning our young players but it's plain to see this lad has it all. Organised the midfield as if he'd been playing ten years, hit long passes to O'Brien that landed exactly where he wanted them and nearly took their defenders head off with a 30 yard short that was destined for the top corner. Him and Perkins are definite midfield starters for me as long as he can keep up that kind of level of performance.
Love it. Ben saying the above for last two years and had the piss took out of me. Mr.C. When i was saying the other week i would start him above Etuhu and Dawson was because i already knew what he could do.
That will be Flitcroft's biggest head ache this season - deciding which of an excellent group of midfielders will start as they are all really good in their own way. Keeping them happy could be a problem as some of them, even though they are good enough, aren't going to play that many games.
You're getting carried away. Not a chance on planet earth he should start in front of either of them. He has to earn his shirt and learn what the Championship means
http://bbs.barnsleyfc.org.uk/showthread.php?193143-Under-21-s-v-Dinamo-Bucharest We already confirmed it yesterday hemsy I am sure Flicker will be delighted, Digby will be like a new signing for next season.
I have not seen him have a bad game for the First team. In point of fact, i have said to my mates in the Windmill pub in Skelmanthorpe, he is the best midfield player I have seen since Duncan Edwards (homework for you young 'uns)
I do not get carried away. I love watching football and even though people take the piss i will let if pass and post what i see at junior level.
Did i say world beaters? What i can tell you is they didn't leave the club because they weren't capable.
Offers more than etuhu in my opinion, if he can maintain that quality there should be no question about it.
