Hope not. It adds character to the ground.

    well maybe re-develop it a little.....with

a better roof, one that does not look like summat from an allotment in Cudworth.. Rip the insides out and refurb it for the fans... and of course get rid of the " Heritage Bogs".

The people who use the West Stand are very fond of it. Everyone else can nanas.

Me and my dad were marvelling at it at the bruges game. Bit of original club history (nearly) there. Tart it up if we must.

well if its structurally sound...then maybe....however

in many cases its cheaper to knock down and re-build. I am certain the tv commentary teams (when they come that is) would appreciate a bit more comfort. As would the press too I reckon. I would have a tinge of regret if they did knock it down....My Dad took me to my first game there and we sat in the Kop end of the stand. The bug bit me instantly.

    must be truly honest here...

when I look at photo's of the ground as it was when I first used to go...well a lump can come in my throat. I have to admit it did have character. Also when I have gone in recent years to grounds that are still of that ilk I do get a warm feeling.... Hartlepool, Stockport, Millmoor come to mind...that's the last few I think I went to.... oh Cheltenham and Yeovil. Oh and not too many years ago Ninnian Park.

Occasionally I sit in a different part of the ground, just so I can gaze lovingly upon the West Stand. I will chain myself to the bogs if the bulldozers ever come. You will find me and Dyson in the rubble hugging each other.

If they did I wonder if they would sell off stuff for memorabelia...

Dyson would put in a healthy offer the bogs I reckon.

Healthy is the wrong word but true. He would move in if he could.

    Hope we don't replace it.

Beautiful history in it and there's no need for a new stand as we don't fill the current ones anyway.

Rumours on Twitter that he does stay there weekend nights. Got his fanzine factory set up in there too. TFP has been sleeping under the pisser on occasion.

My very first season ticket was in that stand

in the upper north part of it ...I think they do not open that bit anymore. So I would have a twinge in my heart. But as we oldies move on the up an coming ones want more Glitz. I think one day it will go. Still it would be great to Clad and roof it and tart it up a bit to keep it on a while.

It would be weird for it not to be there but, if it's doable financially, I'd replace it and give the media some better facilities. It doesn't necessarily have to hold as many people as the existing stand.

Seems little point currently. It's a shame we cannot move the commentary/camera box though, there's a lovely triangular frontage with 'Barnsley Football Club' on it behind. That really would boost the character of the ground. Touches of history anhd identity like that are all too absent in midern stadiums.

Similar to what they have at Preston jedstar? I like it but at some point to will need either a re vamp or knocking down and starting again.
