ommitted from their friendly last night: http://www.ipswichstar.co.uk/sport/...ich_town_s_win_at_colchester_united_1_2294888 Guessing it is either us or Wednesday.
He'll probably have talks with all 3. Get the impression we're interested and he knows the club and town. Think Dave Jones may have a greater influence over him though.
The Chopra thing seems incredibly unlikely to me given his reputed wages 18k a week and his public statements in the press that he won't consider taking a pay cut. I had hope we would have a look at Simeon Jackson but McLean seems a reasonable option.
interesting. mansford was drilled on this on monday, and i thought his response was a little cryptic. on the one hand, his recent history and very public baggage, doesn't seem to endear him as a player, to the 'new' Barnsley. on the other - i have absolutely no doubt whatsoever that if he joins us, it will be on OUR terms. not his. and if he doesn't join, we've probably dodged a bullet for the same reasons. that's how confident i am on our recruitment strategy under the current leadership team.
perfect fit. rudderless, money to burn, desperate for immediate success. i stand by what i just said - no loss to us
Staton isn't normally wrong - looks like he's joining Blackpool. If we can get McLean I'd be happy with that.
3 goals all last season, big debts, personal problems etc. Even if he took a 50% paycut to 9k a week he'd be on too much money.
Plenty of one armed bandits in Blackpool. He'll be made up. No sour grapes at all here- too much baggage for a steady ship like Barnsley
jeeeeeez, i just made a horrible realisation. we want a player when there's rumours, then immediately don't when he signs elsewhere....are we turning into the Fowls????!?!?!?!????
Chopra doesn't fit the Flitcroft profile and is too long in the tooth to change his ways now. I would like to see Lopez set the remaining friendlies on fire, if he's still here.
I haven't seen evidence of anyone on here saying how much they wanted Chopra to sign, only to change their mind?
I agree with your there Mr C. Lopez looks like he has the potential to impress and hopefully he will get a longer run out tomorrow evening.
