Me + i dont know how many. funnyfella23 will know. My 2nd pre-season and first time to NYS. Looking forward to having some drinks in the sun the a game of footy.
I shall be there, gracing Rotherham with my presence. Who will buy me a drink to apologise for the way I've been treated over the years on here?
I would have thought we would be close to taking a full stand's worth with all the excitement around the club but then again, I've never been to New York so don't know how big their away end is.
According to Rotherham's official site earlier on in the week, we aren't going to be sitting in the normal away stand (Morrison Stand) and have been moved to a section of the Ben Bennett East Stand - they did this earlier on in the week against Middlesbrough. Reading the Rotherham forum, it sounds as though Rotherham Utd overestimated the enthusiasm for these friendlies and have opened the whole 12,000 seater stadium for the last few home friendlies but crowds of only 2,000 have been turning up. The steward/catering staff levels have been exactly the same as for normal league games apparently so you can see they've probably lost a bit of money. No word from BFC about us moving stands for tomorrow, guess we'll just have to wait and see what happens tomorrow when we get there!
Box office staff had blank expressions when the above was mentioned. I asked if it meant now unreserved. Loads left anyway
Speaking of which does anyone know how hard it is to make your way up from the train station? I heard its a bit of a trek
http://www.footballgroundguide.com/rotherham_united/index.htm "The nearest railway station is Rotherham Central which only a five minute walk from the stadium. The stadium is located almost directly behind the railway station."
The text says it's a 5 minute walk, but the diagram below says 10 minutes. Sounds like you're in for a right adventure!
You pass the stadium on the train so in the worst case scenario, try follow the train lines back towards Sheffield.
