Dickov is a strange appointment (as alluded to in the Racing Post this morning). It's not like he was doing very well at Oldham. Then he goes missing from the Radio Deedah forum last night. The guy who stood in and sounded close to Rovers didn't seem very optimistic at all about their prospects. We've nicked a main target from under their noses and the consensus is that they haven't done much to strengthen. And Mr Ryan seems to have gone quiet. It all bodes well for our Reds v Pikeys v Scrumpies bet, but it's a strange carry on?
They think a takeover is imminent and fresh investment as well However the longer it goes on the less unlikely it becomes. They have one goalkeeper on their books (an academy kid) and the out of contract players wont wait for ever to join them.
One of our walking group is a Donny fan, been with us today, he's not a happy bunny, he seems to think this take over by some Irish consortium is being led by their former chairman Richardson, the one who was in charge when the stand burnt down, he doesn't think it will happen and is as mad as hell that they haven't signed out of contract players or new players with less than a week to go, he also said that the £20m investment for players will not appear whoever is in charge because who in their right mind would put that amount of cash into a club with their fan base, his words, he is predicting relegation.
Going slightly off topic...Is it true that wendies have still not released their new strip due to lack of sponsor?
