At a supporters evening right now, Keith has just stated that Done would have been sold last Summer had he not got injured. Via twitter.
but didn't he have a 40% sell on clause on any profit that went to Rochdale? and he was a bit rubbish..
Keith played him left back for Rochdale in a friendly the other day. I bet hes over the fcking moon with his footballing career right now.
I think that answers all the questions that need answering regarding Keith Hill not having a f.ucking clue
Hill did it for a reason - so we'd have cover at full back in emergency. He's used pre-season to try and get players used to roles they might not usually play, but ones they might play. A bit like Tom Kennedy playing in a back three or O'Brien at full back. It's called knowing your players as much as possible. And Whitey is right, Hill said that tonight, so unsure why anyone disbelieved it. The injury set Done back it seems, and he's now starting to enjoy his football again. Albeit at a level he might not want to be playing at.
But a level he's more suited. With him being an ex-player is it acceptable to say he was a bit crap or will the true supporters find that offensive??
If they do it's tough. He showed some promise but never really looked a championship player. He will probably be in and out of the championship all his career. More out than in IMO.
So we rejected the first offer and if a second had come in we'd have sold? He then got injured and nothing came about. What a lovely person Keith is for playing hard ball, eh? Fcking hell fire.
Not a clue. Sorry. As for Done, I was really impressed after his first season and expected him to be key for us last season. But the transfer rumour and subsequent injury affected him I reckon, and by the time Keith shoe-horned him back in we were enduring that 3 month period of football that I never want to go through again. It was as bad as I've seen and Matty was absolute gash. . But I still expect him to tear up League Two. He's top drawer on his best days. They are rare though.
Why would people not believe Keith Hill? Possibly because the general manager at the time (Don) stated that Keith Hill elected not to sell Matt Done even though the board thought it was a good deal. One of the two are lying. Considering that Hill stated many times how good he was and how well we were going to do and then when he was found to be **** he suddenly started saying that fans don't listen to him when he always told us it was going to be hard then I know which one I think is full of ****
Think I've managed to coax Adam into coming on Saturday. But there's a few days left yet for him to change his mind and choose to lig in bed all day. He's a top lad, though. But definitely daft as a brush. Dafter even.
I blame his upbringing pal, I tried, I really really did but there's just no hope for him , I'm deffo making one mate even if he changes his mind,
