Ditto. The only crumb of comfort is that although I can't do anything there is likely to be somebody in jail who will be more than happy to do them some damage. I hope they get everything that they deserve.

When cases like this arise it shows you how lenient our legal system is. When the evidence of this kind of abuse is so clear we should be imprisoning the perpetrators for most, if not all, of their lives in conditions that only provide them the most basic of human rights.

Instead they'll end up in a comfortable prison for less than ten years, be protected on their release and given a house and support to rebuild their lives.

It's hard to hold back the tears when you think of the suffering of this poor kid.

As people above have alluded to, the crims get better treatment than their victims.

You know when people say "I wouldn't wish cancer on my worst enemy" - I hope these two get it.

Ah, I take it you're talking about the better class of violent criminal murderers. The world needs more of them.

No I'm not, there are plenty of people in prison who didnt commit murder who would gladly do these two, Smart Arse.

No doubt we'll have yet another inquiry as to why teachers and health workers etc didn't spot it and we must do better to see it never happens again .till next time.
Its time someone who's paid money to spot this were held to account, mother told teacher not to feed him after they caught him scavenging for food and did nothing. unbelievable

Spot on. I find it hard to fathom that the teacher just let it drop after being given some flannel by the mother. I know they are paid to teach, but they do still have a duty of care. It was an extreme case and the eating disorder excuse should have been followed up. Social services should have been informed, they'd know if that was the case and at that stage alarm bells would have rang. They missed so much though you do wonder.

    Sickening.

I know kids can be a handful but I can't get my head around hurting your own flesh and blood like this.

Public stoning if I had my way for these 2 oxygen thieves

Get ready for a lenient sentence from the judge stating his hands are tied etc etc and politicians spouting for political points and doing. Nothing then the media will find another story and all will be forgotten till next time then all will start again absolutely sickening.

Apparently the school did report their concerns but neither police nor social services got to him.

Social services are woefully underfunded. No amount of public enquiries or blame will change that.

Then if that is the case why are the social services not coming on the media and stating outright that they cannot protect these children instead of protecting their jobs by keeping schtum

I would say that the law allows for life sentences for these feckers.
