They had six shirts. Of all sizes.

I bet Accrington have more stock.

We need to get back control of our own club shop. Just Sport were this bad before last season started and clearly not learned a lesson. It doesn't make us look too good that we handed over our own shop to an incompetent company. Hopefully this is the last season. Club shop should be rammed with replica shirts unless someone popped in and asked to bulk buy 1,000.

Nike lose out not club. Club already got what it's getting from shirt sales.

But- fans so miss out of course

Is that how it works? The club get a flat fee regardless of how many shirts we sell? Sounds crazy

Club get a fee so they can sell shirts. If we sell 1 or 1m they get that fee

Although if they only sell 1 then the next time the club tries to rent out the club shop they will only get about 10p for the space, if they sell 1m then they'll get £1m for it. The profitability of the space dictates the value of the space which is why I don't understand BFC's (past) attitude towards the catering at Oakwell. 'It's outsourced so nothing to do with us if it makes any money or not'. Contract is up for renewal and they'll get peanuts again because it's worth nowt.

No I don't think that is the case. Was told that the club would earn more if more shirts are sold (e.g. if we got the promised land again). Not sure how the deal is structured though.

Maybe a flat fee plus a cut of any shirts sold over a certain (ludicrously high) number?

Gally I'm sure you were there when Don implied that was the case. He joked that in nike's first year they were a bit set back by take up of shirts and we made more out of it than if we sold shirts ourselves

The club do it this way so they don't have a load of shirts to sell at the end of the season at half-price, that's why they never seem to have many in, you would think they could order more at the start of the season.

Went in earlier and there are only 4 away shirts left, all long-sleeved and only one of those is adult-size.

Plenty for the 10k or so home customers to spend their cash on tomorrow pre game then. We should be having a strong word with Just Sport with the same happening that did before last season started. It can't be that hard to say look how many shirts we sold last season a few months into the season and making sure with the feel good factor our club have brought back that these things don't happen.
