More numerical, boosting the response to an away game to that of a home game? There may be a player who excels away from home, usually defensively but isn't fairly represented because only a few people vote. Unless we allow player highlights or commentary for away games? I have a headache already.
Why should it matter? No matter the total number of votes, 3, 2 and 1 points are allocated for each game. Unless you're planning to increase the complexity of the scoring system by calculating the percent of votes each player receives. That would make it more accurate, particularly if one player is the overwhelming favourite for MOTM and only a couple of people vote for someone else. The overwhelming MOTM would only receive 1 point more than second place. Instead you'd award them 95 points for getting 95% of the vote. It wouldn't be too difficult, you'd just have to enter the number of votes each player receives in one column and sum that column to get the total number of votes. In the next column you'd just divide the number of votes each player gets by the total number of votes cast and times it by 100. Up to you though, if you'd rather stick with the London Tyke scoring system it would be easier.
Which way is it going to work Mr C? A. 100 (for example) people vote after a match with 70 of them all saying Steele is MOTM so steele gets 210 points. A. 100 people vote and 70 of them say Steele is MOTM (therefore he won the vote) s ohe gets 3 points
I like the percentage thing- alternatively make the MOTM be worth say 5 then 3 then 1 so there's a much bigger distinction for the MOTM, similar to the 3pts for a win 1 for a draw in the league
Have seen games where not one player has been worthy of MoM nevermind 2 or 3 being in the running so could we have a no one worthy category and to make it clear that its not compulsory to select a 2nd and 3rd choice each game.
Refer everyone back to the opening post. Vote MOTM 1,2 & 3 - that is all anyone has to do. Points allocated 3,2 & 1. Pure democracy, every vote counts and every single point is totted up to give us the POTY. Away games will be totalled and an average found which will then be added on. To vote you have to attend, not including player re-runs and highlights - or then we are on the Hemsworth Tyke territory of watching it back 200 times and coming to the conclusion that it was all Bobby's fault even though he wasn't playing or summat. This excludes me from most matches too, but it's okay - I'll be too busy doing sums to go to football.
Only in severely bad games did some London Tykes put 'Nobody' for 2nd or 3rd. I'm only going to count those who vote 1-3 otherwise it's open to fixing. Someone might vote for the same player, but no-one else every match, and that throws the who democracy of the system out the window.
What do you mean here? Why should it be any different to home games if you're just awarding 3, 2 and 1 point to the player with the most, second most and third most votes? For away games there will just be less votes in total, they'll still be a winner, runner up and third place.
