    as last year which had some amazing results and also some pretty terrible ones. we have signed some good players no doubt,
    but have we really strengthened the team with players that can come in straight away and play championship football. nyatanga and mvoto possibly
    the only two. plug and play players as flicker would say is whats needed imo, work rate and effort cannot be faulted tho.

    That result was always going to happen after Etuhu's injury. As a pairing Dawson and Perkins are one of the weakest in the division. We're desperate for either digby or etuhu to be fit.

    Perkins and Dawson can work with supporting Etuhu (352). Said it a thousand times but the simple premise of 352 works. Forget Spain, tactics, fitness programmes. Get basics right

    Yes but Etuhu wasn't there to support, and if he was Mellis is miles in front of Dawson in that formation.

    Could and should have changed to that with Mellis central. We have them too much space in midfield and nowt to think about.

    Etuhu not playing doesn't explain the sheer lack of effort and heart in that second half.. Get the feeling some folk will still be banging the drum of thinking we are better than we are if we lose the first 10

    quite simply we just need some quality players that can comfortably play in the championship and make things happen, unfortunately that costs money.
    i cant comment on the work rate of the players tday as i wasnt in attendence, but generally think we have alot of 'huff n puff' in the team, just lack that bit of quality.
    step forth young digby this is your chance.

    that didnt happen! the effort was clearly there. they were up against a very good side.

    Sorry but we were beat before their second and seriously beat before Jennings got sent off. No way back from 2-0 from what I saw

    I agree mate - but I think it is very unfair to say the effort wasn't there - it was - they were just faster, stronger and technically more gifted players. Plus we should have had a midfield three in the centre in hindsight, to try and compensate.

    Said it a thousand times. We don't have the players for a 4-4-2. Mystified as to why he's gone back to it. Totally mystified
