Played out of position to accommodate Dawson.

Only good things came from him when he managed to get central.

Ill agree to disagree. Dawson very poor. Perkins busy and looking to have the ball.

I think there's a few who wear blinkers when it comes to mellis. He did not play well today.

The whole midfield was overrun by a better side today, dawson and perkins looked poor. Dawson on particular looked worryingly bad. But Mellis gave the ball away more than anyone else to my eyes.

He has the most technical ability, yes. But I think he needs to learn he's not Maradona. I noticed several times he received the ball, and instead of taking a touch and picking a pass, or at least taking a touch and trying to beat his man, he tried to let it run and lost possession straight away. He also relentlessly tried to run with the ball despite it being obvious he didn't have the edge technically against the opposition and certainly didn't have the pace.

I want him to try things yes. I want him to be our best most creative player. But today he needed to recognise his limitations and play within them.

That said against a lot of this division that style of play will be effective. I just think you have to play what's in front of you and surely they knew before kick off that trying to assert ourselves in possession would be nigh on impossible against a side who passed their way to surviving in the premier league for years.

There's always next week. But I can't see how mellis was any better than most of them today.

Might as well if he's playing wide right.

He did lose his man for their first goal. He passed on their full back to Wiseman but then let Beausjour go. They then had a man over in midfield which created the space for Watson to get his shot away.

He does need to be in the middle though. His best moments came when he was more central. If we need to play 4 at the back then I'd like to see us play a diamond formation with Perkins left and Etuhu/Digby at the base.

I know flicker wants to be able to rotate the formation an stuff but every single one off our players look comfortable in a 352. All players know there roles. They all work hard. And we get mellis working off COG.. And it works very well. There's no point playing mellis on the wing! I would rather cywka started ahead of him in a 442. Golbourne should be back to his usual position if its 442! He is alot better than tk but I doubt flicker will want to drop him.

3-5-2 wouldn't have worked today. They left 3 players up top all game and our centre halves wouldn't have been able to cope. We also needed Wiseman at the back to cope with Beausejour's pace.

They had a midfield 3 that were bossing it. We should've at least tried to match em.

Shock horror away team leaves 3 men in attacking positions strange how it results in a 4 0 win.
