Some good, some bad today. Thought he released a few early balls that got us on the attack, something he hasn't done so well in the past. Some of kicks were accurate, some not. Still looked a first class shot stopper and did really well to claim a few of the driven low crosses. The least of our problems today was the 'keeper.
To be fair Steele had a shocker yesterday. Distribution hasn't improved, him and Cranie constantly pissing about with it. Coming out and trying to get rid of it when there was no need to. Had me on edge.
Re: TBH I thought he was very average yesterday Saved a few good efforts well but made quite a few of mistakes for example the shot for first goal didn't seem to be particularly struck that hard and he didn't seem to be unsighted so IMHO should have been saved. Decision making left a lot to be desired first half he rolled a ball sideways in the area to his defender (can't remember who) who had a player bearing down on him, second half he came haring out to the edge of his area and got nowhere the ball.

Steele is average, people need to realise this. He stops shots? Wow! for a goalkeeper that's really impressive. Pity he can't command his area, comes out when he shouldn't and doesn't come out when he should , and can't kick.
Sorry but we are miles apart on this and I`m not one who thinks he`s a world beater either. My only realisation is that you seem someone who is often berating Steele and for that reason only, I cant take your opinion seriously. Each to their own like. In Steele we have a decent Championship keeper who has parts of his game that can be improved upon and other areas I hope he never loses whilst playing for us.
I don't rate him, sorry, but he's our keeper so there you go. I was hoping he'd be gone in the summer and we'd have to replace the….eer replaceable but amazingly no one else seemed to want him, funny that. He is, as you say a decent enough championship keeper (average then?), but he seems to think he's better than he is and as such doesn't need to improve, when he really really does.
