Selling out of programmes too. How many must the club order?
After the game I went in club shop to see if any had brought in from other areas of ground, whilst he went off to check a queue of about 30 people must have formed waiting for the same thing.

Doesn't look like you can get the programme through the app store this year either.

Apparently Lindley's have somewhat disappeared - even the club are struggling to get hold of Billie O'Neil (the Lindley's gaffer).

Total disgrace and a complete disregard of all the words that were spoken at the fans forum. Not a single improvement that I could see.

I think it's time we stepped up the heat- provide a good service or **** off and let us do it ourselves

Supposed to be the alcohol serving point so will still be being done, when season started already...

I imagine the club would have put some caveats in the contract that if they didn't supply X, Y or Z then there would be grounds for looking at terminating the contract. Oh but wait this is Barnsley. I doubt Don thought of that.

i was at the same 'tasting session' in the legends suite, and heard all the promises they made. not one of them met, as far as i can see. actually worse, given the higher than usual home attendance. if i was a betting man, they are on their way out and have no intention of investing in improvements for this season.

Lindleys will be happy earning a tidy profit from Oakwell with minimal effort, can't see anything changing unless they risk losing the contract.

Not dismissing anything you say, but I thought Oakwell looked fantastic in the sunshine with 13,000 people in it and the pitch like a green carpet.

Best place in the world for me, don't let it go to pot Ben.

My matchday experience was some 3-4 year old kid sat 2 rows behind playing on his ipad all the game. Volume up full. It was like being sat in Playland.

I finally cracked and asked guy behind, who I think was his dad, if he could turn it down or wear earplugs.

His reply was for me 'To show some respect, he's only a kid' FFS - I think you've got that the wrong way round pal.

Not looking forward to sitting in front of that all season.

No doubt things will change with the match day experience, Mansford clearly does see that as a priority. Saying that, some of the things won't be quick changes. He will need to arrange meetings with the suppliers / contractors etc.
As for Lindley's, can't really comment on them because I dont pay for the over priced crap that they supply.

I'd just be happy if they turned the music down, it was so loud I saw some kids with fingers in their ears, it's a football match not a rock concert.

i'm afraid this is a very real consequence of allowing under 5s in. all well and good wanting to create a family friendly club, and the next generation of supporters etc. but they're not the ones having their seats kicked for 90 minutes, and bust-ups with dads every saturday, for not doing anything. it also took all of 5 minutes on saturday, to get 'can you watch your language, there's kids present'

the kids aren't to blame here. i'm fine with it, but it needs thinking through. it also needs a dedicated 'family area', where they can go and play candy crush to their hearts content

Eventually that kid will start watching more of the game and playing less on iPad. At least he's in the ground

    have some respect :)

also very much doubt you could here it that loud. I can't hear my own phone ring in oakwell never mind if it was 2rows behind me

Honestly, it was as if he was sat under my chair. Even row in front of me kept looking round to see where it was coming from.

He was actually sat on the floor under his, so the noise was echoing under the seats. Imagine the guy sat next to you which his mobile in his pocket ringing an anoying ringtone for 90mins.

Not a problem with the kid being there - Just needed to turn it down or wear earplugs.

This was on East Stand Lower, so as you can imagine, we don't like noise ;)

Both my kids have gone from the age of 4, eldest is now 8 and other 5. I don't allow them to have the DS out at the game, other than Half Time. Some others around us simply throw the computers, sweets, drinks etc at them just to keep them quiet. Why force the child to go along, just to annoy others I simply dont know

As usual the PA system in the Ponty is poor, it seems like it's very clear & to loud in the east, but it hasn't worked properly in the ponty for a few seasons now. We couldn't hardly hear/make out Flickers speech pre-match (which I thought was an excellent idea) and as always the build up music isn't as clear/loud as I'd like it! Football build up music should be loud/dramatic, go to Sunderland for example, it's fantastic, gets you really up for it!

Once again I was really disappointed in many things around the ground, how hard is it to turn on the tv's and have soccer Saturday on or last seasons high lights etc. Still no new big screen score board, nothing on the ponty walls, idral space for history of big moments! No shirts in on opening day, unbelievable!!!! Really disappointing on & off the field with over 10,000 home fans for the first time in a while!!

Last thing, big thing for me, no timerider :( No matter what people think it's OUR pre-match music! You never see Everton & Chelsea etc sacking off there music, hope it's back again for the next league game if not tomorrow!!
