I was sat a row behind the little lad in question. I did speak to his dad who turned out to be his uncle. He said it was is first match and he wouldn't be bringing him again due to him not been interested . He thought the best way to keep him still and not crying all match was to let him play on his iPod . He did apologise to me for the noise and assured me he wouldn't be coming again . It was just a trial to see of he would enjoy it . His uncle sempt a very decent guy to be honest .

Kids that age can't concentrate on a game. Parents will take them as free. Catch 22.

Aye he apologised to me a bit later on, but his first reaction was that I was being disrespectful for asking.

I've taken both mine since being 5-6 years old and you make sure the kids fit in with their surroundings not the other way round.

Don's gone but one constant remains. There's the problem.

The man in charge. The man with the clout to actually make any decisions.

oh right. are you referring to patrick cryne? from what i've observed so far, said decision maker has...
    - replaced don rowing with a new CEO
    - brought in a globally acclaimed chairman
    - retained the services of flitrcoft & mgmt team
    - retained the services of every player on the retained list
    - sanctioned the signings of o'grady, jennings & john cofie
    - sanctioned investment in player training camps, accommodation and travel
    - sanctioned investments in the relocation of office accommodation and new AGP facilities

against the backdrop of ill health and a court case - don't you think that's pretty good going for a pre-season?

All par for the course for the owner of a professional football club.

What about the other things that have been neglected for years?

Yes your right, after speaking to his uncle I think he relised that . For him to apologise shows he was in the wrong and that he made a bad decision by bringing the little lad. I think he brings his other relation who's not a minutes trouble.

I wasn't there on Saturday, but one thing that stands out

Toby Tyke wearing last year's kit is just unforgivable.

Someone's head should roll for that really. Wouldn't be accepted in any other company.

I agree, all the rest are annoyances but doesn't detract from the football for me. Our term mascot in the wrong kit does.

All the others can be blamed on bad planning/ordering or third parties.

What is it a surprise that Toby Tyke was there wearing a Barnsley shirt? Surely he should have been wearing the new shirt at the Open Day as well?

Imagine Coca Cola dressing someone up in last season's coke can. Ridiculous
