We lost four nil. We didn't force their keeper into a meaningful save in 90 minutes. A pretty ***** matchday experience for me.
i went in preedy's and they had the aspect ratio all wrong on the tvs. made it impossible to see the score in the top left of the screen. and when i asked, they said they didn't have the remotes for me to change it. i was outraged
Ano mate it's just a bit of banter and to be fair you would have thought from a marketing point of view they would have had the new shirt on Toby for the 1st home game...tho he might have been round Blackpool with Chopra and lost it
We need a supporters club bars like the one we go to at Notts County. I wouldn't mind parting with a few quid on membership, as long as it was decent and not over priced. At the moment I'm happy to stay in the pub while quarter to 3 and nip into Greggs for a couple of sausage rolls on my way down to the ground.
i went in on saturday for the first time. in summary, it's heavily underused. there are changes needed, to make it more 'inviting'. but i don't think anything major. it has the basics, and with the right management and some relatively simple touches, should be a money spinner. there should be 150 people in there, from 12 -2.45 i've sent a mail to mansford, with my thoughts and recommendations - be interesting to see if i get any kind of response
The guy is busy so a response from him shouldn't matter. Just as long as he reads the email and takes what you said on board. Maybe he will use a future programme column to answer your query.
I like tradition and I like the Timerider track but I think it's better to have something at our ground that has a chance of getting a few singing, like Seven Nation Army on Saturday did. Timerider was great in the Premier League when we were full to bursting and all on the crest of a wave all season, we'd all clap like seals for 5 minutes straight, but nowadays, nobody bothers/would bother. Whereas Seven Nation Army encourages the "We're the Red and White Army" chorus from the crowd.
Can't say I agree on that point. I heard stuff from The Jam, Queen, The Clash, Reef, U2 amongst others. A sh*te site better than the Now 83 CD on last season. We all have our own tastes of course but what sort of music would appease you?
I'll listen to anything, all of the ones you named above sound good to me, as does Now 83 occasionally. The only thing I wouldn't want to hear at Oakwell is headbanging music or things that are too 'hard', not because I don't like them but because it would turn a few people away. The only requirement for me is for variety, we can't just play the same things every week and hope to get away with it like we have in the past. Also I didn't notice any change at all on Saturday but I think this might be because the music was too loud for me to actually be able to tell what was playing.
I was in ponty and it was barely audible. But as far as the actual songs played goes I thought it was spot on. Some great songs in there.
I think that for the last two years they've had some sort of problem with the speakers in the ponty so you lot have it really quiet and then to compensate for that they deafen everyone in the east stand. It is honestly that loud that at times you can speak and not even be able to hear your own voice.
So do I. It's been the Blunts tune for years. Even saying "WEIR the red and white army" now. We need to find our own unique song.
I thought Jacob Butterfield, John Stones, Craig Davies and a cup run sorted the bottom 3 of that list out?
