If there is such a thing as a working class in 2013, very few of them will be voting Tory. To be fair, they weren't really voted in by anyone.
The worrying part about it is that whoever replaces the current arrangement in a couple of years will offer nothing more. Red, blue, yellow or other will still have to tighten the purse strings so I'm not hanging my hat on Labour doing anything different. Would be nice though. Less out of touch public schoolboys, more in touch realism required. I can't see any party offering that right now.
we are all working class - we go to work to earn a living Some poor deluded souls consider themselves to be middle class - Does that mean that they work part time ? or is it the two car on the drive, box detached house crew ?
And the fall in wages has had nothing to do with the millions of immigrants Labour and the EU brought in I suppose?
What about "the unemployables" who have been frozen out of the Labour market completely by the minimum wage? Wasn't the famous Fabian Socialist Sidney Webb concerned about that happening?
Ironically executive pay ha gone through the roof. If people complain they can always count on the media to find a benefit cheat to star,or a disabled person to take the spotlight off them that should appease the snarling masses.
We're constantly told Europe is a basket case and it's only the generosity of the Germans that stops the whole thing imploding. That plucky Britain is on the road to recovery and everything is going to be ticketty boo. Yet when we go to the bank before we go on hols (those of us lucky enough to be able to) we find our rule Brittania pound notes are worth not a reyt lot more than the Euro's we want to change them into, and not only that but the wages in the countries we are heading off to have been going up with the prices and well **** me backards a pint costs 6 quid. So if the pound is losing value against the Euro, and the Euro is fckd, who's economy is in a mess then?
Well these people were still there and were still unemployable! If you can get better workers for £1 a hour, you won't employ done one with issues for the same will you.
I read that report elsewhere and it is rather misleading, the headline states that the UK is is Europe's bottom 4 on wages but on further reading you find that is on the rise of wages, not on the wages paid. So basically in the last year wages haven't risen as much as most of the rest of Europe, but I believe we still have some of the highest wages. It's not surprising given the state of the economy, it's not only wages not rising but people losing their jobs and having to take lower paid work. I know from 8 months looking for work that I'm lowering my expectations all the time.
Labour do try to share the wealth a bit its the way they go about it bungling and bottling that's they're problem plus labours scandals and corruptions seem to get spotlighted more with the media, wonder why. The Tory landowners have been ripping us off for years but never get a mention .also as you say some senior labour politicians would sit nicely on the Tories benches also some are their for careers rather than convictions unfortunately.
You mean like this...http://uk.news.yahoo.com/labour-attacks-tesco-over-foreign-staff-095533753.html#BE5iqJg

Where's that then? You can get a pint in Spain, Portugal, Poland, Hungary, Turkey for a quid. Ireland's about the only member of the EU where it's 6 quid a pint
