Struggling to find an answer to my question on the internet so any help appreciated.

From what I've heard, goal line technology will be used in the Premier League this season but not the football league.

Can't find out whether or not there are plans for it to be introduced into the football league later or not. Anybody know?

From what I can gather, each club has to have the technology "installed" and will be paying for the technology themselves over four years.

And what happens when inevitably, three of the clubs in the current Premier League are relegated? Do they carry on paying for the technology? Do they even get to continue to use it in the Championship or is it "ripped out" in effect? If they do get to continue to use it in the Championship, wouldn't that be unfair on the rest of the clubs? Potentially of course, over the next four years, we could see 12 of the 24 clubs in the Championship for the 2017/2018 season, having the technology in place due to having spent a season in the Premier League and been subsequently relegated.

I'd imagine they will have to keep paying for it but switch it off if relegated.

Based on our season to date, surely it'd be a lot cheaper to just assume the ball didn't cross the line.

ah right. makes sense. apparently it's in use at Premier League grounds in the FA Cup this season. Could be cause for contention if there's an incident at a non-Premier League ground involving a Premier League team.
