If you're due to go home, try avoid the M621 to get to the M1 south. There's a jacknifed caravan and the whole road is closed. They're queuing all the way back to the city centre at the minute. M1 is pretty clear itself though.
The motorway network around Leeds is an absolute joke, I know it developed over a number of years but it's almost worth going out of your way on old country roads in order to avoid it.
It looks like a nightmare going in on a morning and coming out on a night. Im lucky enough to be heading in the opposite direction at busy times but its ridiculously busy and people drive at vastly different speeds on the M621 making it even more dangerous.
Caravan now at Sturton junction, moved off motorway. Was just talking to my sister then on the phone as she drove past and she screamed, a lorry has hit a car at the roundabout coming off near junction 7
Ah yes the 'traffic on the slip road has priority, give way to the left' roundabout. Happens a lot. Signs saying give way and white lines on the road aren't enough to deter some folk. Mind you if you can't leave Leeds because the M621 is buggered you really aren't trying. Rothwell - Wakey and onwards.
