My post is aimed at anyone on this board who is childish/bitter/clueless enough to hold a grudge against a 19 year old kid because either he A- signed for a more successful football club, in turn enhancing his career prospects both at club level and internationally. or B- doesn't mention us in each and every interview he does.
Think you're making more of it than necessary to be honest. It was a good interview from the lad who is now an Everton player not a Barnsley player. He was never asked what his thoughts were about the club he left. Nearly all the questions were about his U-21 debut, and his breakthrough at Everton. He'd just answered a question about what he expected and how he was hoping to break through into the Everton first team this season when the interviewer asked him about coming back on loan. What other answer did you expect than Noooo when he'd just said he wants to get a regular place in the first team at Everton.
Me too. Such bitterness towards a young lad doing the best for his career. His trajectory over the last 6 months proves he made a canny decision. Hope he makes it to the very top, maybe the full squad before next season is out. I for one will be watching his career with a bit of Yorkshire pride.
Yes next time I go for a new job, when in process of dicussing contract I will insist they give me 15K more than I'm on with my current employer but then lend me back to them whilst they pay continue to pay me.
Unfortunatly for you im assuming you dont hold all the cards in the negotiations unlike in the footballing world the players do. Example from last season would be Zaha. If he was that bothered hed have wanted to come back for 6 months on loan and further his development with first team football. Simple.
lots of answers. for example "i'm flattered to be linked with what they're trying to build at barnsley, and i have a lot to thank them for. i loved my time there and really hope they push on, but i'm an everton player now, and my focus is getting into the first team here' basically, anything other than 'nooooooo' but just for the benefit of anyone who's still a bit confused....i don't blame him for going, i don't blame us for selling and i hope he does well. hope that averts any spontaneous combustion
Yeah I have a different opinion to you so I'm bitter, childish and clueless... I said it's fair enough, and I wish him all the best for the future I just can't understand hero worshiping of a guy who spent half a season playing for us then left at the first chance he got without giving us ample time for a replacement.
Cute, turns out you couldnt really compose a valid sentence for a counter argument so instead attempted some wit. Congratulations.
Next time I get a new job for more money I'll be expecting them to erect a shrine in my honor and constantly track my progress despite me handing in my notice the day I left.
He is a teenager though and also not used to doing interviews. Most of the teenagers I know would give a straight yes or no to a closed question like that.
My post is aimed at anyone on this board who is childish/bitter/clueless enough to hold a grudge against a player still playing for Barnsley and trying his best for the team I'd completely forgotten you were that tool, disregarding tha posts narr.
********. Of course he cares about the club. He spent 10 years here and is a BFC fan, always has been. Don't let the truth get in the way of your character assassination though.
He spent that time at the club then couldn't wait to leave, give me some evidence he's actually a fan beyond having started his career here??
I played football with him before he was signed by Barnsley. You're talking as if you know him and what he was thinking. Unsubstantiated criticism.
