    Mine's a 330i M Sport, and my brother has a 116d which he rates, especially for economy.

    If you're concerned about repair costs, for peace of mind, consider buying one as we both did, from a BMW dealer with the 12 month Approved Used Car Warranty.

    You could even try something radical like supporting the british economy by buying a british built car... a Civic or a Auris would get you from A to B just as easily and you would be doing your bit for the British economy rather than the German.

    You could buy a MINI, Nissan, Ford or Vauxhall too (I think)

    Or a MG.
