Unfortunately he lost his battle with cancer on 28th December. So if you're going for a pint tomorrow feel free to raise a drink to the man who got me hooked on Barnsley Football Club all those years ago.
I'll hae a wee drink in your Grandfathers memory mate. Was great meeting you in Hamilton. Pity I couldn't round my trip off with a United win. How did the holiday go.
Good to see you too mate. Germany was absolutely scorching, and I got to miss the Wigan game, win/win situation!
His name was Gilbert(Gibby) Jennings, lived in Monk Bretton. I used to visit Barnsley when I was younger and he'd take me along to Oakwell, now you poor buggers are stuck with me!
Consider it done mate, as well as personal memories he gave you a great gift of sharing with you his passion.
I didn't, mate. It was just a family visit. I'm going back for Christmas so I'll be trying my hardest to get tickets for the big local derby between Fortuna Dusseldorf and FC Koln, but I'll be lucky because it sells out very quickly! Last game before their winter break too.
Thanks mate, and you're spot on. How boring would life be as a Man Utd fan if it wasn't for the old bugger?
